About the Marmara Political Science Congress
The Marmara University Faculty of Political Science organizes the Marmara Political Sciences Congress to bring together academic research in the political sciences on a common ground and to strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue. The first congress was held in 2025, and the second will take place on 16–17 December 2026 at the Marmara University Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Campus.
The Congress seeks to examine the theoretical and methodological divergences that have become more pronounced over time among the subfields of the political sciences. Political science, public administration, international relations and local government are the principal subfields. The Congress aims to create a productive space for interaction among these fields.
A Broad-Based Academic Platform
The call for papers is open to contributions from political science, public administration, international relations and local government, as well as from related disciplines in the social sciences. The Congress aims to bring together scholars, early-career researchers and graduate students at both the national and international levels.
The Congress program will consist of academic panels, thematic sessions and early-career researcher sessions. The program is being designed to address theoretically grounded studies alongside applied research. In this way, the Congress seeks to provide a comprehensive academic environment in which researchers from different institutions can share their findings and discuss them critically.
Future Vision
The Congress aims to enhance the quality of academic output and to foster new collaborations among researchers from different disciplines. It also seeks to examine current issues in greater depth at both the local and global levels.
Our primary goal is for the Marmara Political Sciences Congress to be held at regular intervals and to become a lasting, well-established academic tradition in the field.
